Wolfmother is one of the best truly new rock bands in recent memory. I am a big fan of hard rock, especially "hair metal." From the 1994 tour supporting Youthanasia, here's Megadeth in New York...on my birthday, no less! Four songs come from that year's release, the rest coming from the best of Megadeth's earlier works. Dave Mustaine's skill as a heavy metal songwriter is clearly shown on every track, but possibly none moreso than the thunderous "Symphony of Destruction," still my favorite track from this band.

Poison recently released Poison'd, an album made of entirely of cover songs (in other words, playing other people's songs). My favorite track on the album is Alice Cooper's "I Never Cry," and really it's one of the only songs I like. Just over a year ago, CRASHDÏET lead singer Dave Lepard was found dead in his Swedish apartment. The band only had one official release (Rest In Sleaze) with him at the healm, but it became an instant classic to those who heard it. They just hired a new singer a few weeks ago, and are working on their 2007 plans now, but it will be very difficult to match what they did with Lepard in 2005.

I'm not a huge fan of Top 40 music. I like some Britney Spears, some Fergie, and a few other choice songs here and there, but generally I try to avoid it. Before Sebastian Bach, Matt Fallon was the lead singer for Skid Row. Supposedly, Fallon was replaced because of the similarities between him and Jon Bon Jovi.
